Randall "Memphis" Raines (Nicolas Cage) is a master car thief. Despite his skills, he knows he can't keep stealing and he's decided to get out of the business. His plans to retire are put on hold when his younger brother Kip finds himself on the wrong side of a dangerous crime boss.
To get his brother out of trouble, Randall agrees to steal 50 luxury cars in one night. He's helped by a group of car thieves which includes Sara "Sway" Wayland (Angelina Jolie). If stealing 50 cars isn't challenging enough, a rival group of thieves is trying to take the same cars, and police are hot on their trail.
