16 over- and under-hated celebs

The pop culture world is full of celebrities who rise to the level of widespread hatred among the public, especially when people are compiling year-end lists about that very subject. But do they all deserve it? And does everyone who actually does deserve public scorn receive it? Let's find out. --RedEye

Sure, you could hate her for gaining fame from a sex tape. Or hate her for benefiting from a reality TV machine that's been out of control for years. But really, Kardashian's not exactly the only person who's become famous largely because of her beauty--admittedly, that's a factor that prevents me from feeling negatively toward her--and her shows wouldn't be popular if people didn't watch. Blame the demand, not the supply.<br><br>
P.S. She also hasn't starred/embarrassed herself in a Paris Hilton-style disaster like "The Hottie and the Nottie," but Kardashian's role in the upcoming Tyler Perry film "The Marriage Counselor" could change that. So stay tuned.  -- Matt Pais

Over-hated: Kim Kardashian
