The L.A. Times Test Kitchen tests hundreds of recipes a year. So coming up with our favorite recipes of 2009 was not an easy task. As the L.A. Times Food staff winnowed down the list to 10 favorites, we decided to throw open the vault of the "best of" lists from year's past. What follows is a look at some of those dishes -- but not all. While our recipes are stored in an online archive that goes back to 1985, our photos don't go back that far.
