What's better than a Mel Brooks film? A period Mel Brooks film... which is pretty much all of them. But there's a reason why that medium works in the theater of the absurd: Crazier plot twists fly better, the accents don't have to be accurate and no insensitive joke is met with "Too soon?" So get a leg of mutton and a lusty dame -- we're looking at the best medieval parodies.<br>

"Your Highness" will most likely be shamelessly embracing the genre with pot-smoking, tweaked-out royalty, thong-wearing warrior princesses and Danny McBride forgoing Olde English to wail how much his quest sucks.
